US Junior Girls Kicks Off October of Championships


The 2020 US Junior Girls Championship, the first of five premiere National Championships scheduled for October, kicked off today. The event features a prize fund of over $10,000, and a $600 first place scholarship provided by US Chess and Dewain Barber. Top seeds include IM Carissa Yip, IM Annie Wang and reigning US Women’s Chess Champion Jen Yu. The quintent of events all feature a time control of Game/25 and a five second increment, with a champion crowned within three or four days.
