It’s Monday, Florida State fans.
As a new week begins, check out our daily rundown.
During a 3-day trip to Louisiana that concluded with matches against three ranked teams, Florida State beach volleyball came out unblemished.
The No. 2 Seminoles improved to 10-0 on the season with a perfect 6-0 weekend on the Bayou. Over the three days, FSU collected wins over Houston Baptist, Louisiana Monroe, Georgia State, Florida Atlantic and Tulane. The highlight of the weekend however, was a 4-1 victory over No. 1 LSU on Saturday night.
Over the four dual victories against the Tigers, only the FSU combination of Sara Putt and Maddie Anderson needed three sets. The duo of Torrey Van Winden and Keara Rutz clinched the match for the Seminoles with a 21-12, 21-14 victory over LSU’s Claire Coppola and Kelli Greene-Agnew.
Over the weekend, only LSU and FAU managed to take a dual from the Seminoles. FSU will likely be the new No. 1 when it travels to Gulf Shores, Ala. next weekend for the “March to May”. That trip concludes with another match against LSU.
