Class 6A girls and boys take the floor today at UAB’S Bartow Arena for the state semifinals.
The Class 6A and 7A semifinals and finals are being played at UAB Monday-Wednesday this week due to construction at Legacy Arena.

FINAL: CLASS 6A BOYS: MOUNTAIN BROOK 66, EUFAULA 63 (3 OTs)
7 PM, Team stats: Mountain Brook was 18-of-47 from the field and 5-of-15 from the free throw line. The Spartans also were 25-of-41 from the free throw line and outrebounded Eufaula 45-35. Eufaula was 23-of-63 (37 percent) and just 5-of-31 from 3 (16 percent). The Tigers were 12-of-19 from the foul line.
6:55 PM, Stats: Bo Barber led Mountain Brook with 15 points. He hit 10-of-14 free throws. Rayven Turner had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Rodarious Thomas led Eufaula with 18 points and seven rebounds. Caleb Paige followed with 17 points and six rebounds.
6:49 PM, Wow: Mountain Brook runs off 24 seconds. Bo Barber hits 1 of 2 free throws. Eufaula’s final shot doesn’t go. It’s a final in a marathon. Mountain Brook wins 66-63. Spartans will face Spanish Fort at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
6:46 PM, Final minute: Eufaula’s Toney Coleman misses a difficult shot in the paint. Mountain Brook has the ball and the lead, 65-63, with 33.2 seconds left.
6:44 PM, Spartans back on top: Bo Barber gives Mountain Brook a 65-63 with a layup. Eufaula ball with 1:39 left. No team has led by more than two in the three overtimes so far.
6:39 PM, Thomas to the bench: Rodarious Thomas picks up his fifth foul. Julius Clark hits a pair of FTs. Spartans go up 63-61 with three minutes left. But Tyson Mitchell with a steal and layup and we are tied again at 63.
6:37 PM, Not done yet: Charlie McKimmon makes one of two free throws to tie it. Eufaula can’t convert on the final shot. We are headed to Triple OT. It’s 61-61.
6:33 PM, Finally: After hitting four of their first 27 3-point shots, Caleb Paige finally buries one to give his team the lead again. Eufaula up 61-60 with 1:01 left. Timeout, Tigers.
6:31 PM, Advantage Spartans: Julius Clark and Rayven Turner with layups to open the OT for Mountain Brook. Spartans lead 60-58 and have the ball with 2:01 left. Eufaula is 4-of-27 from 3, but the Tigers keep jacking them up.
6:27 PM, More free basketball: Eufaula can’t get a final shot off in time. We are headed to double OT. It’s 56-56.
6:25 PM, Final shot: Eufaula misses a 3. Mountain Brook called for a travel. Long story short. Tigers ball with 5.1 seconds left in OT of a tie game.
6:22 PM, Tied again: Devin Fuller hits 2 FTs for Eufaula. It’s 56-56 with 1:06 left. Mountain Brook ball out of the timeout. Each team has had two players foul out. Eufaula has two on the floor with four. Mountain Brook has one on the floor with four.
6:20 PM, Bo knows: Bo Barber ties it with two free throws for Mountain Brook. It’s 54-54 with 1:27 left. Mac Swoger’s layup gives the Spartans the lead with 1:06 left, 56-54. Paulson Wright then fouls out for Mountain Brook.
6:17 PM, Paige Turner: Caleb Paige with a layup to give the Tigers the lead again, 54-52, with 2:52 left in OT. Neither team has been able to shake the other. Three players already fouled out and more in foul trouble.
6:15 PM, Another to the bench: Josh Paige fouls out for Eufaula with 3:35 left. Tough turnaround for the Tigers. Rodarious Thomas had just missed a layup. Instead, Paulson Wright hits 1 of 2 to tie it at 52-52 with 3:35 left.
6:11 PM, Free basketball: Rayven Turner defended well on a final shot in the paint. We are headed to OT, tied 51-51.
6:09 PM, Big Mac attack: Mac Swoger ties it with a layup and Eufaula is called for an offensive foul on the other end. Spartans ball with 25.5 left in regulation. Timeout Mountain Brook. Will they hold for the final shot?
6:06 PM, Costly T: Eufaula called for a technical for slapping the ball out of the hands of a Mountain Brook player trying to inbound the ball. Spartans make 1 of 2 and have the ball down 51-49 with 1:17 left.
6:04 PM, Thomas taking charge: Rodarious Thomas, playing with four fouls, with a steal and layup. Tigers lead 51-48 with 1:24 remaining. Winner faces Spanish Fort on Wednesday.
6:03 PM, Lead change: Rodarious Thomas hits 2 FTs with 1:59 left. Eufaula moves back in front, 49-48. Thomas now has 16 to lead all scorers.
6 PM, Frantic action: Mountain Brook clinging to the 48-47 lead with 2:12 left. Eufaula ball coming out of the timeout.
5:56 PM, Final media TO: Mountain Brook 46, Eufaula 45 with 3:40 left. Rayven Turner going to the line for the Spartans when we resume. A lot of whistles in this game. 42 fouls to be exact. Wow.
5:51 PM, Another one down: Eufaula’s Jaylen Coleman fouls out. Mountain Brook leads 46-44 and looks fresh with all its substitutions. 5:18 left. I feel like I’ve seen this exact game by this team before in the final four. Can Eufaula weather the storm?
5:47 PM, Down the stretch they come: We are tied 43-43 with 6:13 left. Just wonder if Mountain Brook’s experience may pay off. First player of the game just fouled out. It’s the Spartans’ Colby Blackwell. Eufaula just 4-of-22 from 3 today.
5:43 PM Just like that: Mountain Brook has the lead. Paulson Wright with a 3. Spartans up 41-40 with 7:04 left in the game
5:40 PM, End 3: Eufaula still hanging on. Tigers lead 40-36. Mountain Brook’s press seemed to start affecting Eufaula in the final few minutes of the quarter. Also, Tiger standout Rodarious Thomas has four personal fouls. Also noteworthy: Mountain Brook is just 10-of-20 from the FT line. Eufaula is 2-of-5.
5:29 PM, Momentum swing: Ty Davis with a 3 for Mountain Brook. That is followed by the fourth personal foul on Eufaula’s Rodarious Thomas. The Eufaula lead is 35-32 with 3:54 left in the third. Long way to go still.
5:26 PM, Getting offensive: Two straight charging calls against the Spartans. Eufaula is out to a 35-29 lead with 4:51 left in the third. Mississippi State football commit Rodarious Thomas now with 12 for Mountain Brook. Caleb Paige with 10.
5:20 PM, Back in action: Second half underway. Eufaula gets the first FG. Tigers up 31-26 with 7:07 left in the third
5:08 PM, Halftime: Eufaula 29, Mountain Brook 26. Free throw shooting hurting the Spartans. Mountain Brook is just 5-of-14 from the line. Eufaula has been to the FT just twice, making one. Tigers are 11-of-28 from the field overall (39 percent) but just 4-of-18 from 3. Mountain Brook is 10-of-21 overall and 3-of-6 from 3.
5 PM, Tight one: Eufaula leads Mountain Brook 23-22 with 3:10 left in the half. Caleb Paige with 10 points already for the Tigers. Dive Rowe with 7 to lead a balanced Spartan attack.
4:50 PM, After 1: It’s a good one at Bartow. Mountain Brook 15, Eufaula 14.
4:40 PM, Media timeout: Mountain Brook on target from 3 early. Spartans lead 8-5 with 3:44 left in the first quarter. No Bucky McMillan on the bench, but this Mountain Brook — or at least the way it plays — looks very familiar.
4:33 PM, Final game of the day: Spartans in a familiar spot here against Eufaula. And we are a go here at UAB.
3:36 PM, Familiar territory: Mountain Brook invasion should start shortly. Spartans taking on Eufaula next. Winner faces Spanish Fort Wednesday in the title game. Mountain Brook won three straight Class 7A titles from 2017-2019 and finished second a year ago.
3:20 PM, All Wolverines: This one was all Carver-Montgomery after the first quarter. Chelsea finished just 8-of-40 from the field overall and 2-of-17 from 3-point range. The Hornets were also outrebounded 42-20. A 16-4 second quarter for Carver did the damage. Carver’s Breanna Rhodes was the only double figure scorer for either team. She finished with 18 points and six rebounds.
3:10 PM, Drought: Chelsea is 0-of-14 from the field this half. Hornets trail 33-19 with 5:02 left in this one. They are also being outrebounded 35-19.
3:03 PM, Headed to the fourth: Carver-Montgomery leads 29-18. The teams combined for just nine points that quarter. Chelsea is 1-of-12 from 3-point range and just 5-of-32 overall. That adds up to 16 percent shooting. Not good.
2:51 PM, Timeout Chelsea: Wolverines now up 28-14 with 5:30 left in the third. It’s been quite a drought for the Hornets.
2:48 PM, Starting the second: We are underway in the second half with Carver in control. Chelsea yet to find the range.
2:36 PM, Halftime: Carver-Montgomery 24, Chelsea 14. Hornets were just 1 for their last 9 shots in the half. They shot 5-of-19 for the half, including 1-of-7 from 3-point range. Breanna Rhodes has 12 points for Carver.
2:27 PM, Lead change: Carver-Montgomery has opened the second quarter with a 9-2 run to take a 17-12 lead with 4:17 left. Breanna Rhodes has nine points already for the Wolverines.

1:30 PM, Another semifinal: Winner of the next game gets 3-time champ Hazel Green in Wednesday’s final.
1:22 PM, Stats: Kolby Horace led Spanish Fort with 20 points and six rebounds before fouling out late. Carl Fauntroy and Cameron Keshock each scored 14. Colby McAllister had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Tyson Sexton had 20 points for Scottsboro.
1:04 PM, Toros win: Despite losing two starters to fouls, Spanish Fort rallies to knock off Scottsboro and reach the school’s first basketball title game. Carl Fauntroy’s 3 with two minutes left gave the Toros the lead for good. Spanish Fort scored 12 of the final 14 points. Wildcats scored just two field goals in the final quarter.
12:52 PM, Gone: Kolby Horace fouls out in a tie game with 2:32 left for Spanish Fort. Mark that down. He had 20 for the Toros. Carl Fauntroy hits a 3 with 2:00 left. Toros now up 62-59.
12:49 PM, Foul trouble: Spanish Fort has been called for eight fouls this have compared to two for Scottsboro. More importantly, Toro starters Kolby Horace and Logan Pierce each have four. 3:49 left in regulation.
12:46 PM, Getting tight: Carl Fauntroy’s steal and layup cuts the Scottsboro lead to 59-57 with 4:24 left. Just when it seems the Wildcats might pull away, Spanish Fort finds a way to hang around. Spanish Fort’s Logan Pierce, who scored 29 in last week’s win over Calera, has no points on 0-of-1 shooting today. He has been in foul trouble throughout.
12:39 PM, Timeout on the floor: Kolby Horace keeping Spanish Fort around. His layup cuts the Scottsboro lead to 55-51 with 6:36 left. He has 20 points. Tyson Sexton had 16 for Scottsboro.
12:35 PM, Headed to the fourth: Scottsboro leads 53-49. Wildcats are 7-of-14 from 3. Spanish Fort is 6-of-14. Logan Pierce, the key man in the Toros Southeast Regional final win, has four fouls.
12:29 PM, Maintaining control: Scottsboro leads 45-39 with 3:37 left in the third. Wildcats winning most of the loose ball battles right now. Kolby Horace and Logan Pierce each saddled with three personals for the Toros.
12:23 PM, Back in action: Scottsboro with six straight out of the half for a 42-34 lead, its largest. Cameron Keshock drills a 3 for the Fort, cutting the lead to 42-37 with 6:13 left in the third.
12:10 PM, Halftime: Scottsboro leads 36-34. Good first half. Tyson Sexton with 14 points for the Wildcats. He hit on 4-of-5 3-pointers. Jordan Davis has 8 points and 5 rebounds. Kolby Horace leads Spanish Fort with 10. Carl Fauntroy has 8. Logan Pierce has 3 fouls.
12:04 PM, Foul trouble: Spanish Fort guard Logan Pierce just picked up his third foul with 2:06 left in the half. He had 19 points in the third quarter alone in the regional final win over Calera.
