But interestingly, Sindhu, in her Instagram post on Tuesday said there was no problem with her training at the national camp.
Sindhu in her post said – “I do not have any issues with my coach Mr. Gopichand or the training facilities at the academy.”
She also said that here was no tension in the family and that she was constantly in touch with her parents.
“Her practice was not happening properly here,” Ramana told PTI when his reaction was sought on Tuesday. “After the 2018 Asian Games, Gopi (chief coach Pullela Gopichand) didn’t take interest in her training. He didn’t provide a proper practice partner to train with her. She was not having enough quality practice and was fed up with the treatment,” he further said.
He also said that his daughter went alone to London because they could not have stayed with her for two months.
Gopichand refused to respond to Ramana’s comments. “I don’t want to react to what her father says,” he told TOI.
“As far as I know, she’s gone for training at the Gatorade training academy in London. She told me that she will be there for eight to ten weeks. Once she returns, it’ll be back to training like before for tournaments,” Gopi told TOI.
Sindhu posted on her Instagram message on Tuesday. “I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrition and recovery needs with GSSI (Gatorade Sports Science Institute). In fact, I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely they were no family rifts in this regard. Why will I have any problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake. Mine is a very close-knit family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family every day.”
