Kabaddi Kabaddi’ stars
Ritwick Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar in the lead. It’s a love story with sports as the backdrop.
The film revolves around Chanchal (Arjun), a state-level kabaddi player, and Milan (Ritwick), a primary school teacher, who is also an amateurish kabaddi coach. He has a sister, Seema. The shooting will be done in Harinathpur, a small village in Birbhum.
“Both Ritwick and Arjun will be undergoing training in kabaddi so that it looks real on screen. There will be real-time kabaddi players, also as part of the film. Many asked me why I chose kabaddi and not football, cricket, or hockey. My answer is simple – I want to talk about things that people generally don’t talk about. That’s the reason I made Chotoder Chobi and Nagarkirtan.”
Arjun who will work with Kaushik for the first time is looking forward to the film, which will go on the floors from the second week of May. “I wanted to work with Kaushik da for a long time and it materialized finally. I play Chanchal a state-level kabaddi player who wants to make it big. There is a love angle between Seema and Chanchal too. There are multiple layers in the film and I am happy to be part of it,” said Arjun.
Indraadip Das Gupta is composing the music for the film while Gopi Bhagat will handle the camera.
