Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim fight results: Live boxing updates, scorecard, start time, undercard

Unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez returns to fight in Miami on Saturday for the first time since 2008 when he tangles with WBC mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim inside Hard Rock Stadium.

A crowd of 15,000 fans, seated socially distant, will see Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) defend his WBA and WBC titles at 168 pounds while making a quick turnaround just two after he widely outpointed unbeaten Callum Smith.

Alvarez, 30, is looking to stay just as active should he defeat Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs), a former sparring partner. The Mexican superstar is hoping to fight four times in 2021 with his goal of becoming the super middleweight division’s first undisputed champion.

The co-main event will see McWilliams Arroyo take on Abraham Rodriguez for the interim WBC flyweight title after champion Julio Cesar Martinez was forced to withdraw with a hand injury earlier in the week. The fight was not made official until Saturday morning once it was approved by the commission. Arroyo has won three straight while Rodriguez in on a four-fight win streak.

CBS Sports will be with you throughout the entire way on Saturday, so be sure to follow along with the live results and highlights below.
