Abilene High boys basketball knocks off No. 21 Denton Guyer

The Abilene High boys basketball team took down its second ranked opponent in as many games on Friday night with a 53-46 win at No. 21 Denton Guyer.

The Eagles (2-1) were coming off a win against Class 4A No. 7 Wichita Falls Hirschi and kept the momentum going against a fellow 6A foe.

AHS jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter and held on to a 26-23 lead at halftime. The Eagles pushed their lead to 41-35 entering the final frame and held on for the victory.

Jalen McGee led with 20 points while Nathan Watts added 12 for the Eagles. Brayden Bradshaw finished with a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats (2-1) in the loss.

On Tuesday, Abilene High travels to Granbury for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
